One of the biggest challenges that comes along with marketing your instructional training programs has to do with how you’re supposed to get someone genuinely EXCITED for this type of experience in the first place. You obviously know that your training program is an important one – now, you need to convey that to your leads in a way that also comes off as fun and that builds anticipation. This is the only way to truly generate not only the response rate, but the attendance numbers, that you need.

Luckily, this isn’t nearly as difficult as you may have assumed it would be. For the best results, you just need to keep a few key things in mind.

Getting Excited About Education Again

It goes without saying that you should begin your efforts by using targeted mailing to go after the types of leads in your area who are most likely to want to attend your instructional training program in the first place. But even more than that, you need to communicate the true VALUE that you offer in a way that is easy to understand and even easier to get excited about.

When you design the copy for direct mail collateral like plastic postcards, focus on communicating the problems that your training program could solve. Let people know what they’ll be able to do AFTER the training that they couldn’t do BEFORE. Help them see what they’re going to get out of it beyond “education” and make no mistake, people will begin to sit up and take notice.

Likewise, in the early days of your campaign, you should absolutely be reaching out to your most loyal customers FIRST. In other words, don’t target just anyone. Target your brand advocates.

Make an effort to not only talk to these people, but show them that your training program is a big part of how you care. Strengthen your relationship with them. Once a few of these brand advocates take your training program and have a great experience with it, they’ll start to tell other people. If you also give them some type of bonus or incentive for every new attendee they bring with them, soon your campaign will start to generate its own momentum – and your attendance rate will soar.
